Thames Water have confirmed to L&G that Harpenden's sewerage system is inadequate to cope with this development. The Infrastructure Delivery Plan accompanying the last draft Local Plan similarly identified a need for a sewerage infrastructure upgrade. L&G have not clarified how this upgrade will be funded, preferring to vaguely suggest that Thames Water will pay for it. Yet again, L&G are content to make a huge profit and leave the resulting mess for the Council, local residents and others to deal with in years to come.
